In the last years of the conservatory, he started playing the viola, as well as the violin, as his main instrument. Meanwhile, he obtained his diploma at the School of Arts in Varese, where he first became interested in wood carving.

From 1997 to 2000, he studied violin making at the "Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria" in Parma with  M° Renato Scrollavezza and M° Marco Imer Piccinotti for the varnishing.

In 2000, after obtaining the diploma, he became an independent violin maker and opened his own laboratory in Casorate Sempione. In the same year, he started his apprenticeship, which later became an active collaboration, with professor Piccinotti, who provided  important guidance on his training.
